Now, back to the card. . .

I can't wait to show you how to create this 'under the sea' card that I created using my Sizzix eclips and SVG Cuts files!

I love when you open it and and the card totally comes to life thanks to the Sizzix scalloped circle pop up die!  If you'd like to try and make one, I will show you some tips and tricks to create it!

First, you will want to cut a 7x5 card base. I like to use my eclips to cut my card bases quickly and easily instead of using a paper trimmer. I am a BIG time digital die cutter, so the eclips is always out and ready to go.  My paper trimmer is usually buried somewhere!

You can easily open the basic shapes window in the eCal software, and size a rectangle to your desired card size.  A little tip when resizing, you will most likely want to UNCHECK the 'keep proportions' box! Set width and size, then cut!  

For this card, I cut one rectangle at 10x7and folded in half. Then I cut the 'waves' pattern at 5x7 for the front.  After I adhered the waves, I rounded the corners.

Die cut the scalloped pop up. Position in the center on the card like so.

To decorate the front of the card you will need to make the following cuts with your eclipse machine and the SVG Cuts:

• Tropical Friends: Turtle - 1.50"w and Clown fish - 1.50"w
• SVG Cuts Scalloped Shapes: L-Frame - 2.50"w

To cut the layered elements on this card,  open all the files for the piece (the turtle is shown here) to create the element and spread them out on the mat like shown above. 

Trim your paper to fit in the areas of the mat that the eclips will cut.  When I have my files layed out on my mat how I like, I then stick my paper pieces to the mat in the same places.  All those pieces will make up that cute little turtle! 

When the eclips is done working it's magic, you will have perfectly cut die cuts! All those pieces will make up that cute little turtle! 

Open the L-frame.svg file from SVG Cuts. It will look like the image above.  Re-size the image to 2.50"w.  Cut the image from the yellow print paper and pink print paper for the 'frames'.  For the 'windows' on the cover you will need to do a little 'breaking apart' in eCal. 

Now, you will right click the scalloped shape and select 'break apart' as shown above. The image will become two pieces. You will use the CIRCLE only. You can delete the scalloped circle.  Cut the circle to make yourself two 'backing' pieces in the teal chevron print. This will fit nicely behind the scalloped frames you just cut!

Adhere fish/turtle to the teal chevron circle. I also used my Epiphany Crafts tools to make 'bubbles'. Adhere circles in place to the front of your card.  Use adhesive foam to adhere the scalloped circle frame over the teal chevron circles. I added some acetate to mine to create a fun 'window' look. Embellish the front of the card with more round epoxy shapes, buttons, twine, paper tape and stamp sentiment.

For the inside of the card add additional elements to the pop up die you already have in place.  Here are the sizes I cut the remainder of the SVG Cuts Tropical Friends files to:

• Seaweed - 1.033w and .870w
• Coral 1 - 1.78w
• Coral 2 - 1.245w
• Seahorse - .75w
• Starfish - 1.00w
• Dolphin 1 - 2.474w
• Frond - .50" w and .85" wide

Lastly, we will cut the cute little flowers. You can find this flower in your Basic Shapes library.  Size the flowers to 1.00"w.

Cut several in different patterns and string them through twine and adhere them to your card! There you go! All done!

I hope you've enjoyed this card and learning a bit about the eclips! It's an amazing machine that cuts VERY well! I just love it!
